Last year I stated that senior sessions are my favorite – and that sentiment will always be true.
I absolutely love being able to capture this season of a high school senior, venturing off into a new chapter. There is so much excitement, so much anticipation. I ask themĀ about their dreams and goals and their eyes light up as they look into the future. They talk about what they want to learn, who they want to be friends with, what they want to be known for. They think about the new classrooms, new dorm rooms, and new campus they will inherit. They are ready to discover who they are, as they negotiate new environments all on their own.
I also love to be able to capture the season of the college graduate. I canāt overemphasize how much maturing can happen in four years. My college seniors are self-confident and assured. They talk about their accomplishments and what they overcame. They reflect on the growing pains but appreciate how strong they became in the process. They left a nest, made amazing friendships, conquered tough academic trials, and cheered on their favorite football team. There is an anticipation for the next chapter, but a sense of fulfillment from the chapter they recently closed.
Class of 2017 ā I am so proud of you and who you will become. It was such a blessing getting to meet & love on y’all and I can’t wait to cheer you on in the future!
