Here goes the very first blog post, and I decided to make it personal: very personal!
A very special boy named Jake came into my life during my freshman year of high school:
We became friends with mutual classes together, but soon we started hanging out more and by the time freshman year ended we had become a little more than friends. Shortly after our Sophomore Homecoming dance, in a sweet little moment in my house on November 6, 2006, Jake asked me to be his girlfriend. Many, many football, basketball and baseball games later we had graduated high school and I was on my way to college 2,000 miles away from him. This summer I graduated from Texas Christian University and Jake came down to Texas to drive me HOME!
While visiting family in Fallbrook, Jake and I decided to go on a date to the beaches of San Diego. The date started by hanging out in the sand and surf, and scouting out the best light to take some pictures:
The sun was setting so perfectly over the Pacific Ocean when we started a series of “self-timer” shots!
Right when the sun was dipping below the water Jake told me we were going to take one more photo together. He set the camera, clicked the button, and came back to me. I asked him which pose he wanted to do.
Â
He said, “this one” and grabbed my hands, dropping to a knee:
It has been pretty amazing to watch our puppy love grow such deep roots. Jake has been my best friend for 6 years, and now he gets to be my best friend for the rest of my life : ) I am the most blessed girl in the whole entire world.
love,
k
